One-Day Seminar/Workshop on Semester System: Philosophy, Expectations and Practices

TU-PNC, 05 May 2018 – The Department of English Education at Prithvi Narayan Campus organized a one-day seminar/workshop on the “Semester System: Philosophy, Expectations and Practices” on 20 April 2018.

The seminar/workshop was facilitated by Dr. Prem Phyak who is serving as Head at the Central Department of English Education, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur.

Dr. Phyak shared his teaching experiences in a semester system setup with the faculty members and the students of M.Ed. first year of Prithvi Narayan Campus.  During his presentation, he focused on the nature of the semester system, its modalities and practices at his department in Kirtipur. He explained the ways of assessment, classroom activities, and evaluation models, and suggested the students of Prithvi Narayan Campus to take the semester system easy.

Delivering his inaugural speech as Chief Guest, Assistant Campus Chief Chola Kanta Ojha expressed his hope that the Department of English Education will be able to successfully implement the semester system at the department.  

Delivering the closing remarks by the chair of the program, Prof. Tirtha Raj Aryal who is also serving as the Head of the Department of English Education at Prithvi Narayan Campus requested the students to devote their time for their study and be cooperative towards the departmental activities in order to enhance the teaching learning environment at the department. He said that department is ready and supportive to its students and wishes to share knowledge with its students.

Prof. Aryal also suggested the students to devote more time if the department offers some extra classes for the students and asked the faculty members and students to consider the semester and annual system separately.

The seminar/workshop program was hosted by Dr. Nabaraj Neupane.
