Faculty and Students of Prithvi Narayan Campus Took Part in American Society for Microbiology

TU-PNC, 26 April 2018: A program to familiarize the B.Sc Microbiology students of Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara with the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) was organized by the Dept of Microbiology, Manipal College of Medical Science (MCOMS) on 19 March 2018.

B.Sc Microbiology students and Faculty members of the Prithvi Narayan Campus participated in the program. Prof. Dr. Chandra Bahadur Thapa, Campus Chief, of Prithvi Narayan Campus was the chief guest for this program. He stressed the importance of being in sync with the developments in various fields of science.

Mr. Dharma Raj Bhatta, Asst Prof, Dept of Microbiology, of Manipal College of Medical Sciences explained various aspects of American Society for Microbiology and the benefits the members can draw through ASM resources. Mr. Supram HS, a recipient of ASM travel grant shared his experiences with the participants.

Similarly, Dr. Dipendra Hamal, Lecturer, Dept of Microbiology, MCOMS and Dr. Nisha Baral with Mr. Indra Bahadur Thapa facilitated the students in navigating the ASM website, registering and becoming member of ASM.

The students exhibited keen interest with number of questions, 55 students and 5 Faculty members attended the program.

The program was facilitated by Dr. S Gokhale, ASM Country Ambassador for Nepal with the help of Mr. Krishna Gurung, Coordinator of Dept of Microbiology, Prithvi Narayan Campus, Pokhara.
