Prof. Dr. Bedari: I’d be much obliged to become a part of this institution

TU-PNC, 28 June 2016: The Dept of Economics in collaboration with the School of Management, Kathmandu University organized a training program on the basic econometrics course from 23-29 June 2016.

Speaking at the program, Prof. Dr. Devi Prasad Bedari of the School of Management, Kathmandu University, who has been the resource person at the program said, “I’d be much obliged to become a part of this institution.” “This training will introduce the technique of econometric and data modeling that can be applied in research enabling the trainees to produce research papers in future,” he further said.  

The Dept of Economics has recently set up an educational scholarship fund of an amount of 3 lakhs. The fund will be used to create the scholarships to be awarded each year to the needy students of master’s first year at the department. The basic criteria for awarding the students will be on the basis of their economic status, honesty and hard work.

Responding to our reporter, Prof. Dr. Yadav Prasad Gaudel Sharma who heads the Dept of Economics said, “The participants will be benefitted from this training in applying the theoretical knowledge into practice.” He further said that in doing so they will be able to enhance their teaching learning by integrating theory and practice.

Present at the inaugural session was Prof. Bishwo Raj Adhikari, Assistant Campus Chief for master’s programs. He appreciated the involvement of the faculty members in the departmental activities and wished for the success of the training.

The training was participated by the faculty members of the Dept of Economics & Population Studies, and the faculty members from the Faculty of Management.
