TU-PNC, 26 Nov. 2015: The Department of Sociology/Anthropology released the special issue of its journal on Thursday, 26 Nov. 2015 at a function attended by Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Debendra Bahadur Lamichhane as Chief Guest and chaired by Dept Head Surya Bhakta Sidgel. The releasing ceremony was also attended by Assistant Campus Chiefs, Dept Heads, Faculty members and students of the same department.
Speaking in the capacity of Chief Guest of the journal releasing ceremony, Campus Chief Prof. Dr. Lamichhane said, “The journal will essentially help the students and/or researchers know the interdisciplinary approaches of research as well as teaching and learning in the university”. He also appreciated the effort of the department for regularly publishing the research journal. “The Department of Sociology/Anthropology and Rural Development has played a landmark role,” he added.
While highlighting the publication of the journal, Executive Editor Dr. Prakash Upadhyay said, “All the papers include original research based papers on thesis writing written in English language covering all aspects of thesis writing for all types of readers especially the research students.” He hoped that the journal will play a vital role to disseminate and share knowledge in the field of research in Sociology/Anthropology and Rural Development. “The objective has been to contribute to the world of knowledge and research field,” he further said.
Similarly, Dept Head Surya Bhakta Sigdel who chaired the ceremony thanked all article contributors, journal editors and faculty and students who work together to bring it out in the present form. He at the end expressed his willingness to receive constructive feedback from all the readers for improvement of the journal in the upcoming issues.
At the same ceremony, the former Campus Chief Gehendreshwor Koirala, Assistant Campus Chiefs Bishwo Raj Adhikari and Tara Khanal, and TUTA Central Committee Treasurer Indra Prasad Sharma also spoke about the importance of journal publication and expressed their best wishes for the continuation of the publication in the days to come.
The special issue of this journal was an outcome of the “Workshop on Thesis Writing and Evaluation” that was organized on July 3-4, 2015 by the Department of Sociology/Anthropology and Rural Development at TU-PNC.
The journal was edited by Dr. Prakash Upadhyay as Executive Editor, Surya Bhakta Sigdel , Ram Chandra Baral, Netra Narayan Paudel and Shiva Bahadur Thapa as Associate Editors.
The journal articles were contributed by Dr. Prakash Upadhyay, Surya Bhakta Sigdel, Shanti Bhusal, Netra Narayan Paudel, Shiva Bahadur Thapa, Shanta Kumari Khatri, Amrit Kumar Bhandari, Mukunda Lamsal, Sarad Kumar Paudel, Ram Chandra Baral and Shukra Raj Adhikari.
The releasing ceremony was held in the seminar hall of the White House Science Building located with the campus premises.
